	Hobby Master 1/48 scale HA7501: Boeing P-26A Peashooter of 94th PS, USAAC, Selfridge Field, MI, 1935. Box has repaired endflap tears extending inwards from the edge. Length 6 inches Wingspan 7 inches The first USAAC P-26As arrived in early 1934 with some being assigned to the 1st Pursuit Group at Selfridge Field Michigan of which the 94th Pursuit Squadron was part. During WWI the squadron was called the 94th Aero Squadron "Hat In The Ring" with Ed Rickenbacker as a member. In 1919 they became the 94th PS and presently are known as the 94th FS. The P-26 was replaced by the P-35 and P-36 and had been withdrawn from regular service use by the time of the attack on Pearl Harbor. Designed as a pursuit monoplane for the USAAC, the P-26 was first flown on March 20th, 1932. Affectionately nicknamed "Peashooter," the P-26 was the first all-metal production fighter. Its wings were braced with wire rather than rigid struts, which created less drag and allowed for greater maneuverability and faster flight-so fast, in fact, that landing flaps had to be added to slow the aircraft down upon final approach. The cockpit area sat forward of center, and the pilot had nothing but a small windscreen to protect his face and a protruding headrest to protect his head.
